I just finished a 104.285 km cycling that lasted about 7hh:17mm:40ss !
road closure for Triathlon around the bays
Today's ride was all about obtaining the 100 km Challenge Ride Badge, so with that in mind the plan was to ride into Wellington City. Go around the Bays then climbing up Happy Valley Rd. From here I then ride all the way to Brown Owl Upper Hutt. Total expected distance of 180 km. Unfortunately this did not happen, as I was leaving the city I was experiencing pain in both my thighs.

I changed the final destination to Naenae and reduced my speed knowing I had to ride back over Wainuiomata Hill Summit to get home.
Avalon Park, brief stop to re-energize on fruits
It was fairly windy all day and it was a bit of a struggle in most places, especially around the bays where I and many other cyclists were grinding it out. Even thought you can see from the photo's it's quite sunny, I was cold and only on the hill climbs I managed to work up a sweat.
